News Release
LAUNCH OF THE 12TH ANNUAL ‘All We Need for Christmas’ campaign in support of the Sudbury Infant Food Bank.

Sudbury, ON – The Infant Food Bank (IFB), in partnership with Petryna Advertising and the New Hot 93.5, is launching its 12th annual campaign entitled ‘All We Need for Christmas’ to help raise funds and supplies for Greater Sudbury’s most vulnerable – babies and young children.

Traditionally this campaign has involved community partners and businesses filling cribs, car seats and playpens with items such as formula, diapers and baby food. Given current restrictions due to COVID-19, we have introduced more ways to give.

During these unprecedented times, giving has never been more important. You can still help fill-a-crib if you see one at a local retail store, or you can visit us online to make a donation. You may also see posters at local retail partners asking you to scan a QR code that will take you directly to their “Virtual Crib”. Whatever way you choose to give, know that your donation is going directly to help a local family feed, clothe and care for their infant.

“This year we are asking our community to continue to give so we can help our registered families provide the necessities of life to their infants and young families. It has been a tough year for everyone, and it has never been more important to come together and help one another”, said Dedee Flietstra, Executive Director of the Infant Food Bank. “We appreciate tremendously everything Greater Sudburians have done to help us over the past 12 years, and we want to continue to help as many families as we can. We cannot do that without the community and their support.”

“Due to the pandemic, we have developed a campaign that provides the community with more ways to give”, said David Petryna, President of Petryna Advertising. “You can still fill-a-crib, but now you have the option to do that virtually as well. We are asking everyone to visit www.allweneedsudbury.ca to see how they can help this holiday season.”

While the “All I Need for Christmas” campaign runs during the month of December, the Infant Food Bank graciously accepts donations year-round as the need is always great. Current needs include: all types of infant formula, especially Enfamil, size 6 diapers, sleepers (newborn to 6-month size), infant scratch mittens and baby monitors.

The Infant Food Bank (part of the Pregnancy Care Centre of Sudbury, est. 1996) is a not-for-profit charitable organization funded solely by individual donations. The Infant Food Bank provides practical support to families twice monthly as a relief program when times get tough. There are currently over 800 families registered. Visit www.allweneedsudbury.ca to learn more and to make a donation.
